The encore of the "From Emmett Till to SNCC & Beyond: Words + Music + Art" Benefit had sponsorship opportunities to support Highways Performance Space as a 501(c)3 nonprofit (Tax ID: 95-4231812) at the various levels below for individuals, businesses, government entities or other nonprofits in the position to grant financial support. Among our sponsors were: The Weingart Foundation; The Justin Carr Wants World Peace Foundation; and The William and Ellen Craft Foundation. In addition, we're honored that supporting this Benefit respectively wee two United Nations Associations-USA entities: UNA-USA/Los Angeles Chapter as a special Benefit collaborator; and the UNA-USA/University of Southern California Chapter with a special sponsorship. In fact, two of our sponsors have a connection to the UN. The Weingart Foundation President, Joanna Jackson, once worked for The U.S. Fund for UNICEF. While William and Ellen Craft are considered refugees by the UN's High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), due to their having to escape to the U.K. from enslavement in the U.S. in 1850.
