Speaking on Capital Hill

Shruthi Mathur is a poet, humanitarian, actor and writer.  In fact, she was a writer on the hit gr Disney series, MIRA, Royal Detective. Also serving as the president of the United Nations Association of Los Angeles (UNA-USA/Los Angeles), Shruthi’s mission is to spread community, culture, and calmpassion through imaginative storytelling & by uniting holistic humanitarian hearts in the city of stars and beyond.  In fact, her motto is “culture over conflict.”

After studying International Relations, Media, & Theatre at Johns Hopkins University, she began her career working at the United Nations and the White House, as the first female TV correspondent reporting for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other TV channels in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. A rebellious romantic adventurer, the Virginia native also worked at the Smithsonian, National Geographic Travel, and traveled across the US reporting on the National Park Service’s National Heritage Areas.

Shruthi began volunteering at 15, and served as one of 8 Regional Ambassadors & National Youth Council Appointees for the American Red Cross. She’s also been a poet and speaker for:
UN Women; UNICEF NextGen and UNA-USA delegations speaking on Capitol Hill.

Shruthi is a mentor with the
Children’s Media Association &
Être Girls, and was a keynote speaker for the Shero’s Rise Summit in LA on the UN Day of the Girl.

 

Shruthi’s poetry has been published in Role Model Magazine’s upcoming book, Unstoppable 100: Trailblazing Women & Girls Shaping Our World. Which is meaningful for her as a proud “girl mom”. 

 

Shruthi lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two daughters.
