A graduate of Fine Art from the University of Maryland, College Park, Lori Antoinette started out as an oil painter predominantly, later switching to acrylics.

Lori spent 30 years enjoying world travel, while working for international airlines, and at the same time keeping both hands in the arts, including  joining a Los Angeles area art collective, eventually co-owning a downtown LA gallery with the collective. She also became certified in textile design, and had her own wearable arts business.

Amidst the "traditional" aspects of art she was engaged in, Lori discovered chalk on the ground at the first Pasadena Chalk Festival in 1993—it was love at first chalk. In fact, it prompted her to adopt her own motto, “Have Chalk, Will Travel!” Which she has done, becoming part of the world of captivating colors, extraordinary design and 3D optical illusions that seem to defy gravity, but all three aspects—whether together or individually—define chalk art at its best.

A full-time artist since 2014, Lori has really gone full steam into developing her art career to include: wall murals, public art and portraiture. She also continues to develop partnerships with other talented artists. Creatively zen and committed about arts being accessible for everyone, Lori also conducts private paint parties for non-artists (or so they think)...

Lori started a social group to showcase her chalk artist family called "Chalk Mafia".  And she also recently became a board member for a new arts non-profit, Rural Artists of the Magnificent Mojave (RAMM) based in Pearblossom, CA.

And about her ongoing artistic trajectory, Lori says:

It's been quite a journey, but that's the best part!

Life is always a work in progress...create on...”
